A little bit about Allan
Mr. Shaffer is a graduate of the
University of Washington in Seattle, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ski
Resort Planning with a focus on Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture.
Allan also attended the Wright Ingraham Institute, directed by Elizebeth Wright
Ingraham, a granddaughter of Frank Lloyd Wright, where he trained in
interdisciplinary thinking. This concept brings together experts from different
sciences and disciplines to synthesize creative thinking and develop new
patterns, needs, and ideas.
Mr. Shaffer worked on studies for Mt.
Spokane Ski Area and JBK Developers in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. He also
completed work for Landhope Farm Stores to locate new sites for convenience
stores, conducting traffic analysis, circulation studies, and visual and
regional area studies to meet criteria for new store locations. Additionally,
Mr. Shaffer developed a comprehensive townhouse development plan in Steamboat
Springs, Colorado. This project combined site planning, visual analysis,
architectural concepts, market studies, construction costs, and economic
feasibility studies. The project was completed in collaboration with Carol and
Ian McHarg, renowned landscape architects. Ian McHarg, considered the father of
regional planning, authored the book Design with Nature. Mr. Shaffer
also worked on an equestrian farm design concept site plan in Woody Creek,
Colorado with architects from Aspen, Colorado.
Mr. Shaffer also has experience in the
oil and gas industry, working in investor relations, preparing presentations,
and collaborating with geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers to
market new prospective oil and gas wells for drilling.
Alpine ski racing and playing polo
have been Allan’s passions for many years. Today, Mr. Shaffer continues working
with Point Clear Polo Club, timing and scoring games, which brought him to
Alabama.
Allan is excited to use his interdisciplinary background and experience to sell real estate projects and property while working with Crye*Leike Gulf Coast in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
